Smitherman. 63, died unexpectedly Monday. Funeral services will be
announced by the Oakley-Metcalf Funeral home.
Smitherman was born May 14, 1891 and had been a resident of Lufkin for 12 years. He was a member of the Pentacostal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs, Ida Smitherman of Lufkin: four daughters, Mrs. Mary Lou English and Mrs. Erma Grimes of Lufkin, Mrs. Magaline Hayes of Beaumont, and Mrs, Margaret Johnson of Diboll; three sons. Harvey Smitherman of Lufkin, Arrie Smitherman of Colmesneil, and Earl Smitherman of Apple brother, Eugene Smitherman of Bay- Apple Springs; one town: three sisters, Mrs. Belle Conner of Ratcliff, Mrs. Nora Campbell of Groveton, and Mrs. Esther McHenry of Marlin, and 15 grandchildren.
