Mrs. Elfa Greene Smitherman, 90 of Boone, died Saturday evening, February 5, 2000, at her home.
She was born May 13, 1909 in the Beaver Dam community, a daughter of Adam Clark and Etta Greene.
Mrs. Smitherman was a charter member of Green Valley Baptist Church and attended Advent Christian Church, She was a salad maker at Hounds Ears Club House.
Survivors include two daughters, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and a son-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin Smitherman, one daughter, Cornelia Miller; three brothers, Raymond, Alvin and Clyde Greene and two sisters, Mary Annie Beshears and Lucy Wilson.
Services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Gordon Noble. Burial will follow at the Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens.
