Mrs. Ella Vee Martin Smitherman, 102 of 1208 Ebert St., died Monday morning at Forsyth Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Urbana, Ill. to John L. and Sarah Murray Martin. She was a member of East Bend Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Smitherman on May 1, 1960 and by a son, Robert Lowell Smitherman on December 17, 1977.
Surviving are two daugh- ters, Mrs. R.M. (Blanche) Ulman of Commache, N.Y. and Mrs. Jack (Mary) Alexander of Winston-Sa- lem; one son, Col. Willis E. Smitherman of Elberon, N.J.; one broth- er, Elmer W. Martin of Eugene, Ore.; two nieces; two nephews; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Huff Funeral Home Chapel by Benny Neill. Burial will follow in East Bend Baptist Church Cemetery.
