EAST BEND- Mrs. Fannie Mae
Henning Smitherman, 88, of East Bend Rt. 1, died at Lula Conrad Hoots
Memorial Hospital in Yadkinville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Shady Grove United Methodist Church by the Rev. Newell Bush and the Rev. Ray Davis. Burial will be in Baltimore United Methodist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. to lie in state.
Mrs. Smitherman was born in Yadkin County to Lewis and Martha Jane Speer Henning. She was the widow of Garrell Smitherman and is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Edith Johnson of Asheboro; three sons, Brice, Roy, and Edgar Smitherman all of East Bend Rt. 1; four sisters, Mrs. Mattie Binkley and Mrs. Tennie Hutchens both of Winston-Salem, Mrs. Emma Pilcher of Rural Hall, and Mrs. Eliza Sanders of Philadelphia, Pa.; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
