Mrs. D. M. Smitherman, for many
years a resident of Selma, died at an early hour this morning, leaving
a husband and one son, Mr. Clifford D. Smitherman to mourn her loss.
Mrs. Smitherman was a woman of splendid qualities, with a quiet, retiring nature, but to those who knew her she displayed a warm, understanding heart, which held her friends to her with hoops of steel.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed. Services will prob- ably take place from the residence, 112 Lawrence, and the body sent away for burial.
