ester frances (white) smitherman
Frances W. Smitherman, 80, of
Bethel Road, Mooresville, died this morning at Morgan County Memorial
Hospital. She had been ill and a patient at the hospital for two weeks.
The daughter of Eli F. and Estina Lindley White, she was born in Brown Township, Morgan County, March 21, 1905. She was a lifetime resident of the county.
On June 26, 1927, she married Walter Smitherman and he sur- vives.
Other survivors include two sons, Jack Smitherman, Indianapolis, Bruce Smitherman, Mooresville; a daughter, Shirley Pauley, Mooresville; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A graduate of Indiana Central Business College, she and her husband started Smitherman Hatcheries in Mooresville in 1934. She retired in 1967.
Mrs. Smitherman was a member of the Mooresville Friends Church, where she was treasurer and clerk of the ministry and council.
The Rev. Ric Schultze will conduct the service Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery.
Friends may call at Carlisle and Son Funeral Home from 3 until 5 and 6 until 9 p.m. Wednesday.
