george washington smitherman
Mr. George W. Smitherman, of Randolph, was called to his reward February 8, 1957.
Mr. Smitherman lived a full life. No one ever heard him complain about being treated unfairly or unkindly. He always saw the beautiful side of every subject. He was never known to make derogatory statements about his fellow man. A great source of satisfaction to him was to be of some service to those he came in contact with. He had a cheer- ing word for those who were dis- couraged or bereaved in any way. His philosophy of life was beauti- ful in simplicity and repartee, also cheery to those in adversity. He and his dutiful wife endeavored to inculcate that attitude into the children who mourn his passing.
Mr. Smitherman was born December 5th, 1881, near Jemison, Alabama. His parents were the Reverend Sutton Smitherman and Mary Ward Smitherman.
