MAE (SMITHERMAN) SCOTT, age 78 of Verbena, passed away on July 1, 2023
at the Health Center at Buck Creek in Alabaster, AL. She was born in
Chilton County on June 3, 1945; the daughter of the late William
Clarence Smitherman and the late Ellar Mae Braswell Smitherman.She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by: Son, Jody J. (Terra) Scott of Thorsby; Son, Dennis W. (Amanda) Scott of Calera; Grandchildren: Jesse W. Scott, Madison N. Scott, and Gavin N. Scott; and Brother, Johnny (Linda) Smitherman of Maplesville.
She is preceded in death by: Husband, Cecil Wayne Scott.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.
The family request in lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to the Chilton County Humane Society.
