isadora a (dils) smitherman
Mrs. Isadora Smitherman passed
away Friday at 4:35 o'clock a. m., at her home on Carter avenue,
between Polk and Adams street, sur- viving her husband just one week, 2
hours and 5 minutes. She had been in comparative good health until just
recently, the shock of her husband's death having been the greatest
contributing cause that brought her to her last illness.
She was born in Wood county, West Virginia, in 1843, and had thus reached the age of 74 years. She was married on Christmas eve, 1861, in Parkersburg, W. Va., to William A. Smitherman. In 1865, Mr. and Mrs. Smitherman moved to Jackson county, Mo., and after go- ing back to West Virginia and thence returning to Missouri, they came to Mena in 1900 and had since lived here.
Mrs. Smitherman is survived by one son, George L. Smitherman, of this city, and two daughters, Mrs. Ida Jennings, of Mayview, Mo., and Mrs. Ora Daniels of Spokane, Wash.
The funeral services were held Saturday forenoon at 10:30 o'clock at the residence, and were in charge of the Rev. W. L. Smith of the Bap- tist church. Interment was in the I. 0. 0. F. cemetery.
