Mr. J.T. Smitherman, familiarly known as Jap, a former sheriff of Chilton county, died at his home at Bessemer last Thursday, aged about 48 years. He leaves a wife and five children.
Mr. Smitherman had numerous friends in this county who will learn with regret of his death, and whose sympathies are with the bereaved family. The remains were interred at Maplesville Friday.
