MULBERRY, Tenn.- John D.
Smitherman, 55, of Mulberry died Sunday at Lincoln Regional Hospital.
The funeral will be Wed- nesday at 1 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home
chapel with Roy Markham, Lewis Ellenburg and Charles Martin officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Jasper, Ala. at 5:30 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rose Cooper Smitherman; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Swenssen and Mrs. Karen Lehman, both of Oregon; his mother, Mrs. Dora J. Smitherman Chandler of Virginia; four sisters, Mrs. Lorene Conley of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Mrs. Verla Wirth, Mrs. Glenna Bernard and Mrs. Darlene Duff, all of Virginia; two brothers, Paul Smitherman of Florida and Ray Smitherman of Virginia; and three grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the National Association of Atomic Veterans.
