Judy grew up in Winston-Salem where she attended Hanes High School, then continued her education at Lenoir Rhyne University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She then received her Vocational Teaching Certification at N.C. State University and Appalachian State University. During her distinguished career, she began using her gifts for serving others as a Clini- cal Nurse, Nursing Instructor at Davidson Community College, and a Health Occupations Instructor for the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. She went on to serve as the Administrator of the Children's Program and an advocate for mental health services at Charter Hospital, then worked within the Department of Psychiatry at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Her subsequent position as Regional Associate and Clinical Evaluator of the New Medico Head Injury System furthered her passion for helping others. She ended her career as the C.E.O. of the Carolina Behavioral Health Alliance. Her purpose driven passion for helping others with mental health issues, educating others, and counseling those in need was evidenced throughout her career.

Judy embodied grace, unconditional love, and strength of spirit and had an immense passion for her family, her friends and her Lord and Savior. Her close connection to God made her a compassionate person, a generous steward, and an exemplary mother. She loved spending time with friends and family, especially at the beach, and always knew how to have fun and laugh.

Her family, friends, coworkers, and all the people she has touched throughout her life will miss her dearly and have all benefited from sharing life with her. We know that she would want us to appreciate and celebrate the time we had with her and to re- member that faith, family, friends, and helping others in time of need are the things that fulfill our lives and make us who we are.
