ROCKDALE-Funeral services for
Mrs. Lydia Smitherman, 80, of Rockdale will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the
Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 4 p.m. in
the Sunnyside Cemetery in Calvert, Rev. Hubert R. Yount and Rev. Robert
W. Koch officiating. Mrs. Smitherman, a Methodist, died Sunday in a
local hospital.
Survivors include three sons, L. B. Smitherman of Calvert, E. S. Smitherman of St. Louis, Mo., and Eugene Smitherman of Cameron; eight daughters, Mrs. Weldon Williams of Rockdale, Mrs. Hubert McClaren of Cameron, Mrs. Hubert Yount of Lufkin, Mrs. Florence Ellis of Austin, Mrs. J. R. Woodall of Calvert, Mrs. James C. Bolden of Austin, Mrs. Willie Kuzel of Houston, and Mrs. Isaac Satterwhite of Houston; one brother, Otis Young of Fairfield; one sister, Mrs. Alma Young Wood of Fort Worth; 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
