mary belle (moore) smitherman
Mrs. Mary B. Smitherman, 43, wife of William C. Smitherman, died at 2 a.m. today at Methodist Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Bells, Tenn., Mrs. Smitherman first moved to Memphis in 1941. In 1956 she moved to Tampa, Fla., and returned to Memphis last year. She was a member of Lamar Heights Baptist Church and lived at 1711 Pendleton.
She also leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Moore of Gadsden, Tenn.; her sister, Mrs. R. E. Stewart of Memphis, and two brothers.
Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Jones Funeral Home of Bells, with burial there. The family requests any memorials be sent to the Cancer Fund.
