Funeral service for Mrs. Mattie
Smitherman Anderson was held Saturday, May 16 at 2:00 in the afternoon
at the First Baptist Church in Hayti. The Rev. F. P. Herring and Rev.
Guy Magee officiated.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Pemiscot County on August 12, 1882, the daughter of the late David and Margaret Smitherman. She died at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti, May 14, 1959 at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 2 days.
She attended school in Hayti and was married to Lee Anderson on September 4, 1907 at Caruthersville, Mo. She was a member of the Hayt! Baptist Church,
She is survived by her husband, Lee Anderson, Hayti, Rte. 1; two sons, Harley Anderson, Caruthersville and 'Ernest Anderson, Hayti, Rte. 1 and one daughter, Mrs. Thelma Campbell, Bang City, Mo. Two brothers, Luther Smitherman, Hayti, Mo., and Ernest Smith- erman, Denver, Colo., and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Haley, and Mrs. Walter Barnes of Hayti, Route 1 also survive. There are six grand- children listed among survivors.
Burial was made in Woodlawn Cemetery with H. S. Smith Funeral Home Service.
