SMITHERMAN,
Ottis Ervin, Jr., 75, resident of Prattville, AL, passed away on
Friday, January 13, 2023. Funeral services will be held on Thursday,
January 19, 2023 at 11:00 am from Prattville Memorial Chapel with
Pastor Pete Chadwick officiating. Burial will follow at Prattville
Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial directing. The family will
receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Mr. Smitherman had a lifelong career in banking. He was a coach with Dixie Youth softball, active in men’s softball league and he loved hunting.
Mr. Smitherman was preceded in death by his parents, Ottis and Dorothy Smitherman; sister, Voncille Scott and three brothers, James Smitherman, Joe Smitherman and Earl Smitherman. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Deborah Smitherman; four daughters, Monya Wright, Sandi Johnson, Terry Klinkhammer (Ian) and Barbara Gulledge (Brad); six grandchildren, Keith Johnson, Billy Johnson, Kylie Klinkhammer, Taylor Ford, Chloe Gulledge and Courtney Gulledge; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Watts; many nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends. Pallbearers will be David Golson, James Earl Wallace, Keith Johnson, Billy Johnson, Brad Gulledge and Ian Klinkhammer.
