Robert L. Smitherman, 72, of Oak
Grove, MO, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 12,
2021. He was born October 7, 1949 in Winston-Salem, NC, the son
of Robert L. and Lorraine E. (Barney) Smitherman.
Robert was a Eastern Jackson County area resident since 1980’s moving from St. Joseph, MO. He was a graduate of the University of Kansas and had been the Owner and Operator of Barefoot Pilot Car Services. He was a member of the Paradise Outfitters Ministry, Oak Grove, MO.
On August 31, 1999 he married Marsha Watson in Lee’s Summit, MO, she survives of the home.
As per Rob’s wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held starting at 6:00 p.m, Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main Street, Blue Springs, MO 64015. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rob’s memory are suggested to Great Plains SPCA, 5424 Antioch Drive, Merriam, KS 66202 or to Paradise Outfitters Ministries, 1500 S.
