TUPELO - Ronald Ross “Ronny”
Smitherman, Sr., 63, died Friday, June 19, 2020 at his residence in
Tupelo after a battle with cancer. Ronny was born in Tupelo on
Feb. 3, 1957, the son of the late Bobby Ross Smitherman and Annie Mae
Reeves Smitherman. He graduated from Tupelo High School in 1975
and has spent the last 28 years as a truck driver for Cooper Trucking
out of Holly Springs. A regular lover of fresh coffee, he revered
his cup every morning and throughout the day. He enjoyed watching
American Pickers, Storage Wars and NCIS on TV. He was a hard
worker and devoted to his job and loved 70’s music.
Public visitation will be from 3 PM - 5PM on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors. All other services are private to the family. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to be serving the family.
Ronny is survived by his son, Ronald Ross “RJ” Smitherman, Jr., and his mother, Donna Guyton Randolph and her husband, Mike, all of Amory; his nieces and nephews; and his truck driving buddies. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Annie Mae Reeves Smitherman, and two siblings, Jeffrey and Karen Smitherman.
