Roy Lynn Smitherman, 72 of Pleasant Grove passed away Tuesday March 18, 2025, at Legacy Health and Rehab of Pleasant Grove.
Roy was born December 23, 1952, in Birmingham, AL the son of Luther Smitherman and Myrtice Pearl Posey Smitherman.
He was a graduate of West Jefferson High School and worked for many years as a pattern maker for Metso Minerals.
He was married to Emily Smitherman who passed away on June 7, 2015. He is also preceded in death by his daughter: Britany E. Smitherman; parents: Luther and Myrtice Pearl Smitherman; brother: Larry Smitherman and sister: Ritza Spears.
Survivors include his brothers: Terry (Rebecca) Smitherman and Jimmy Smitherman and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Graveside Service was 1:30 p.m. Friday March 21, 2025, at Rock Springs Cemetery, Blountsville Funeral Home directing. Visitation was 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Friday at Blountsville Funeral Home.
