FLOYDADA - Funeral services for
Ruth Pauline Smitherman, 83, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First
Baptist Church with Rev. Nathan Mulder officiating and Rev. Howell
Farnsworth, pastor, assisting. Burial will be in Floyd County Memorial
Park by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Floydada.
Mrs. Smitherman died Friday, Jan. 26, 1996, in the Floydada Nurs- ing Home.
She was born Oct. 23, 1912, in Floyd County and attended school at Sunset and Lockney. A lifelong resident of Floyd County, she was a homemaker and a Baptist. She married Ernest Philmore Smitherman on Jan. 1, 1930, in Plainview. He died Jan. 18, 1995.
Survivors include two sons, Philip of Floydada and Larry of Austin; three grandchildren, Marc Smitherman of Knoxville, Tenn., Monty Smitherman and Kay Lynn Smitherman, both of Austin; and one great-grandchild, Jake, of Knoxville, Tenn.
Pallbearers will be Gary Matsler, Hulon Carthel, Kendis Julian, Fred Marble, Choise Smith and Kerry Pratt.
The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
