SMITHERMAN, Shirley Diane, 20, a
resident of Rt. 2, Clanton, died Monday in a Birmingham hospital after
an extended illness. Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Tuesday from
Refuge Baptist Church with the Rev Grady Cleckler and Rev. J. E.
Connell officiating. Burial in the churchyard cemetery with Sarber
Funeral Home, Clanton, directing.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Smitherman, Clanton; one son, Carl Eugene Connell, Clanton; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Napoleon Connell, Clanton; two sisters, Mrs. Joyce Martin, Mrs. Emma Jean Smitherman Clanton; three brothers, Joe, Johnny, Tony Connell, Clanton.
