EAST BEND - Mrs. Sylvania
Smitherman Williams, 81, Rt. 1, widow of Mr. Paul Williams, died Monday
evening at her home. She was born in Yadkin County to David Anderson
and Sarah Wall Smitherman.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Jane Davis, Winston-Salem; one son, Jackie David Williams, Rt. 1, East Bend; one sister, Mrs. Mamie Wagoner, East Bend; five brothers, Mr. Brad Smitherman, Union, Iowa, Mr. Joe Smitherman, Winston-Salem, Guy Smitherman, Dwight Smitherman and Glenn Smitherman, all of East Bend; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at New Home United Methodist Church by the Rev. George Carnwright and the Rev. Newell Bush. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. to lie in state. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Huff Funeral Home, East Bend.
