theodocia "dora" (tucker) smitherman
One of Bibb county's former
citizens, Mrs. Dora Smitherman of Ran- dolph, Ala., passed away at her
home on the evening of October 19th. Had she lived six more days she
would have reached her 94th birthday. This wonderful woman had a host
of rela- tives and friends throughout Bibb and Chilton counties, where
she had lived most of her life.
Her passing, like gentle breeze waf- ting her spirit into the home of the soul has saddened the hearts of her many relatives. Through her life she has been affectionately call Ciss Dora by her friends, who will cherish her memory so dear to the hearts that were fortunate enough to enjoy the lovely sweet manner and fitting smile that was for everyone associated with her. Her family of 3 sons and 3 daughters, with their families of such worthy sons and daughters. A gener- ation to be proud of, so devoted and dutiful to their mother, her crowning glory.
Burial was in Randolph cemetery by the side of her deceased husband who preceded her to the grave several years past, Rev. John Sutton Smith- erman. Her home at Randolph, a shrine where her devoted friends found warmth of friendship and peace of mind. Her vacancy can never be filled in their hearts.
One who knew her from childhood and loved her devotedly.
-Mrs. Sara Mahan Adams.
