HENDERSON, Sept. 8.- Funeral
service for Mrs. E. D. Smitherman was held at the First Baptist Church
in Overton, the Rev. S. Q. Proctor, Presbyterian pastor, assisted by
the Rev. C. W. Holmes, Baptist pastor, officiating. She formerly
resided at Luling, Texas.
Survivors are her husband, E. D. Smitherman; one daughter, Elsie DeWetta; five sons, Wallace, Merle and Bobby, Overton; Lieut. James Lee Smitherman, Boise, Idaho; Corp. Ernest Dewey Smitherman, Panama Canal; her mother, Mrs. Annie Lee Ballard, Overton; three brothers and three sisters.
