Wesley S. Smitherman, age 47, of
Opp, Ala., died at an Opp hospital Thursday, May 29th, at 3:00 a.m.
Services were held at Cox Chapel Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock,
conducted by Rev. Daryl Jones; Spigener directing.
Pallbearers were: James, Judson and Mark Arthur, Lloyd Love- lady, James Clark and W. S. Cotton.
The wife, Mrs. Jennie Arthur Smitherman, survives; one daughter, Miss Nellie Smitherman; one son, Leighton Smitherman; four sisters-Mrs. Alice Jackson, Mrs. Ollie Mae Lovelady, Mrs. Helen Atcheson, Mrs. Susia Mc- Kee, all of Maplesville; step mother, Mrs. Clara Latham, of Maplesville; four brothers, A. F. (Pete) Smither- man of Birmingham. D. C., of Leeds, Howeson and Eulas of the U. S. Army in Idaho and Alaska, respectively.
Native of Bibb county, Mr. Smitherman was a son of Ruben Smither- man and Lillie Parnell Smitherman.
