Funeral services for Willis H.
Smitherman, 76 Plantersville, were held this afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
from the Plantersville Baptist Church with the Rev. George Weaver and
the Rev. J. B. Hopper jointly offi- ciating. Interment followed in the

Christian Cemetery with Breslin Service directing. Smitherman, who was a retired farmer, died Monday at 6:30 a.m. at his residence in Plantersville. Serving as honorary pallbearers were the deacons of the Planters- ville Baptist Church.
Active pallbearers included Tom Martin, W. A Friday, Lois Pick- ering, J. T. O'Neal, H. G. Herrod, Sr., and J. C. Morrow
Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs. W. T. Car- roll, Selma; Mrs. C. E. Fuller, Mo- bile; Mrs. J. P. Montgomery, Stark- ville, Miss.; three sons, J. E. Smith- erman, Starkville, Miss.; Robert H. Smitherman and Wendell H Smith- erman, Plantersville; one brother, Randal Smitherman, Centreville; one sister, Mrs. Earnest Millander, Centreville, and eight grandchild-
ren.
