Mr. Gordon H. (Sonny) Smitherman, Jr. age 77, passed away Friday, May 6, 2005 in a Montgomery Hospital.
Graveside Services are sched- uled for Monday, May 9, 2005 in Pineview Memory Gardens at 2:00 P. M. with Chaplin Danny Rieben, officiating. Selma Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife Gail Smitherman, and one son, Mark (Betty) Smitherman of Eufaula, AL., and one grand-daughter, Christy Smitherman. He is also survived by one sister, Jo D. Lange of Denver, Colorado and one brother, Joe Smitherman of Lawley, AL. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nell Phillips. Mr. Smitherman was a member of the American Legion. He received the Korean SV Medal, the National Defense SV Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, May 9, 2005 from 1:00 to 2:00 at the Selma Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the VA and/or DAV
