Jether A. Smitherman, 8-year-old
son of J. A. and Flora Livengood Smitherman, Winston-Salem route 2.
died at a local hospital at 1:20 o'clock Wednesday morning.
The boy was born in this city on April 5, 1928 and had been ill since last Thursday, serious since Saturday.
He was a member of the South Fork M. E. Church and attended the South Fork School. His father and stepmother, Mrs. Nonnie Smither man; four sisters, Opal, Dorothy, Evelyn and Joan, and one brother, Robert A. Smitherman, survive.
Funeral services will be conducted from the home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. E. W. Needham and interment will be in the Mt. Tabor M. E. Church graveyard.
