Mrs. Howell D. Jones, 72, Arcadia, died at 8:30 a.m. today at Arcadia Hospital after an extended illness.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. H. M. Williams, Baton Rouge, Mrs. Richard M. Pullig, Clinton, and Mrs. John Howard, Lake Providence; a son, H. D. Jones Jr., Alexandria; two sisters, Mrs. J. M. McCarty, Shreveport, and Mrs. Victor Mather, McNeil, Miss.; four brothers, James E. Smitherman, R. G. Smitherman Jr., and C. B. Smitherman and David E. Smitherman, all of Shreveport; and a number of grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Conger Funeral Home in Arcadia with Dr. Don Harbuck, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Arcadia, officiating. Burial will be in Arcadia Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones' nephews will serve as casket bearers.
