Birmingham died Thursday, June 16, 1994. He was self-employed with
Smitherman's Inc.; member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church; 23
member of the American Legion, General Gorgas Post 1; graduate of
Birmingham Southern College, Northwestern, New York University of
Ortholics and Prostetics.
Funeral service will be Saturday, June 18, at 10:00 a.m. from Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel with Dr. Mahlon Felkins officiating. Burial in Southern Heritage Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, June 17, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Ridout's Southern Heritage directing.
Survivors: loving wife, Brenda Smitherman of Birmingham; daughters, Angela Ann Maples and Barbara Jo Smitherman, both of Birmingham; son, Bobby Ray Smitherman of Orange Beach; mother, Willie Mae Smitherman of Dothan; brothers, M. L. Smitherman and Willis Smitherman, both of Dothan; various aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; grandchild, Courtney Leigh Hollis of Birmingham; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lehman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to B.M.C. Montclair Hospice Program.
