SMITHERMAN, WILLIE MAE, age 81,
of Dothan, died March 8, 1996. Mrs. Smitherman had lived in Dothan for
the past three years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Prior
to moving to Dothan, Mrs. Smitherman made her home in Birmingham and
was a member of Valleydale Baptist Church.
Mrs. Smitherman was preceded in death by her husband, Moody L. Smitherman and son, Bobby Joe Smitherman.
Survivors: two sons, M. L. Smitherman and Willis Smitherman, both of Dothan; nine grandchildren, Mrs. Lisa Compton of Trussville, Bobby Ray Smitherman of Orlando, Fla., Dr. Michael Smitherman of Miami Beach, Fla., Barbara Jo Smitherman of Leeds, Barry, Eric and Laura Smitherman, all of Pell City, Cody and Kaitlyn Nicholson, both of Dothan; one great grandchild, Kailey Compton of Trussville.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 11, 1996, 11:00 a.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home with burial in Ridout's Southern Heritage Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Ridout's Southern Heritage directing.
