STANLEYVILLE - Mr. Carl Junior (Buck) Smitherman, Stanleyville, died at Forsyth Memorial Hospital Monday morning.
He was born in Yadkin County to Carlie Neal and Tennie Speer Smitherman.
He was a retired electrician and was in decling health several years and seriously ill for six weeks.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nell Taylor Smitherman of the home; two sons, Phillip Larry Smitherman of King, N.C., Carl Ronald Smitherman of the home; two grandsons, Greg and Chris Smitherman of King, N.C.; five sisters, Mrs. Irene Joyner of Pfaff- town, N.C., Mrs. Mabel Dinkins of Yadkinville, N.C., Mrs. Edna Baker of Winston- Salem, Mrs. Ann Key of Greensboro, and Mrs. Edith Stone of N. Wilkesboro; one brother, Guy V. Smitherman of East Bend.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Huff Funeral Home Chapel in East Bend by the Rev. O.M. Hartman. Burial will be in New Home United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening.
